The first two were on Saturday June 9 at the Downtown Waynesville's Appalachian Lifestyle Celebration Festival.
We were at Main Street Perks (next to City Bakery). Gary told the famous story of Bodine, the 'cat-killer' dog. Everybody loved it.
Liars Bench Stars Lloyd Arneach,
Paul Iarussi,
William Ritter,
and Karen Barnes all performed brilliantly.
The audience loved us!
Bodine hopes that the Downtown Waynesville Association invites us back for an encore next year.
The following Friday, June 15, the Liars Bench Show played the Community Room at the old Jackson County Courthouse. This was special because it was the first time the show had played the Community Room and we were up against some tough competition from the popular Bluegrass band Balsam Range playing the same time, but at the Pavilion in Bridge Park alongside Scotts Creek in Downtown Sylva.
Gary had to be in Burnsville to receive an award for his play "Outlander." What were we to do for a host?
HELP!
Newt Smith to the rescue!Newt kicked things off with a real whopper about Gary getting arrested for 'molesting' a possum.
It was so believable that the audience loved it
Liars Bench Stars Lloyd Arneach,
Paul Iarussi,
and Karen Barnes made us all proud.
Plus...
audience members
Gene Middleton
and Nancy Reeder
enthralled the audience with great stories.
It was a very successful night for the Liars Bench and we're grateful for all our loyal fans.
Our next scheduled shows will be at the Franklin Folk Festival on Saturday July 21. We'll play two shows, the first at 10:00 am and the second at 1:00 pm. If the festival organizers put us in the same venue as last year, we'll be adjacent to, and up above the Peebles Department Store in Downtown Franklin. Not to worry Liars Bench Fans. We'll keep you updated as the date gets closer.
